Facility planning & set-up
Business case, service mix and space planning for laboratories and imaging suites: sample flow, patient flow, power backup, water, HVAC and, for X-ray and CT rooms, coordinating shielding design with qualified experts.
We advise medical laboratories, radiology and imaging centres, and hospitals across the full lifecycle: planning and setting up the facility, choosing and buying the right equipment, getting licensed, and running the service efficiently to a high standard.
Feasibility, service mix, test and imaging menu, projected volumes, budget and business case.
Site selection, layout and workflow design, utilities, and the regulatory approvals you need to open.
Equipment specification, vendor comparison, procurement support, installation and commissioning oversight.
Quality systems, staffing, operations, cost control and growth once you're up and running.
Business case, service mix and space planning for laboratories and imaging suites: sample flow, patient flow, power backup, water, HVAC and, for X-ray and CT rooms, coordinating shielding design with qualified experts.
Specifications, vendor shortlists, quotation comparison and total cost of ownership (reagents, service contracts, spares, uptime). Covers laboratory analysers and imaging equipment such as X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI and mammography.
Preparing your documents, facility and staffing for the relevant regulators, including MLSCN for laboratories, RRBN for radiography services, NNRA authorisation for ionising-radiation equipment, and state facility registration such as HEFAMAA in Lagos.
Quality management systems, SOPs, internal quality control and EQA for laboratories, with ISO 15189 readiness. For radiology: equipment QA/QC schedules, radiation protection programmes, image quality and reporting-turnaround audits.
Organisational structure, staffing and competency plans, workflow and turnaround improvement, referral and reporting processes, and KPIs for owners and managers.
Cutting waste in reagents, films and consumables, repeat tests and repeat scans, idle equipment time and downtime, then using Lean methods to improve margins without lowering quality.
Stock control, reagent and consumable planning, and preventive maintenance and calibration schedules. We also help you negotiate service contracts so equipment stays running.
Choosing and implementing LIS, RIS and PACS, and connecting instruments and modalities so results and images move without paper. See healthtech consultancy.
Positioning, referral relationships with clinicians and hospitals, corporate and HMO partnerships, and patient retention in a competitive diagnostics market.
A structured review of a planned or existing facility, with a prioritised action plan.
Defined scope, such as a new diagnostic centre set-up or equipment procurement.
Workshops for management and technical teams, on site or online.
Ongoing management advisory and periodic audits.
No. Accreditation bodies and regulators make their own independent decisions, and nobody can honestly guarantee the outcome. We prepare your facility, documents and team thoroughly so you go in ready.
Shielding calculations and radiation protection assessments have to be carried out by qualified radiation protection experts, as the regulator requires. We coordinate that work, then integrate it into your layout, build and licensing plan.
We supply laboratory equipment and reagents, including products from ISO certified IVD companies. For other equipment, including imaging, we help you specify and source it from suitable vendors. When a recommendation includes products we supply, we tell you, and you're free to buy elsewhere.
Yes. Much of the planning and assessment can be done remotely, and we arrange site visits elsewhere in Nigeria. Travel costs are agreed up front.
It depends on scope and facility size. After a first conversation we send a written proposal with a fixed fee or clear day rate.
Talk to us before you commit to a site or sign an equipment contract.
